Meet Our Caring Staff

Meet our staff, members of the local community who make everything that happens possible.

Michael Brosang

Michael Brosang is the Founder and Lead Funeral Director of Brosang Family Funeral and Cremation Services in Tyler, Texas. Michael lives in the Emerald Bay community along with his lovely wife, Channey, and they spend much of their personal time participating at the church, playing in charity golf tournaments, assisting students with the design and plant landscape project and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Even as a teenager Michael knew he wanted to work in the funeral profession. At eighteen he apprenticed at Lloyd James Funeral Home where he decided this was his calling in life, not justa career. Michael moved to Alabama, went to Jefferson State University and graduated in 1994 with a funeral science degree. He then passed the National Board Exam and became a licensed funeral director in Alabama and Georgia.

Michael returned to East Texas where he took time to work with his parents at the family business, Brosang’s Flowers, gaining a greater understanding of running and operating a business. He also graduated from Leadership Tyler Class 33 to further himself more. However, when Michael’s mentor, Johnnie Stewart, opened a funeral home, Michael returned to the job he loved most.

He spent the next thirteen years serving East Texas families at Stewart, using his faith and compassion to help them navigate the funeral process. It was his deep desire to help families that fueled his dream to open his own funeral home in 2024. Michael hopes that Brosang Family Funeral and Cremation Services gives Tyler an affordable, full-service option for families that he will run with the guidance of his faith while respecting all who enter.

William Brosang

William Brosang is a dedicated member of the Brosang Family Funeral & Cremation team, working closely alongside his father as he gains hands‑on experience in the funeral profession. He is currently attending North Texas Community College, where he is pursuing his funeral directing license, and he plans to continue his education by earning a bachelor’s degree in business to further support his long‑term career in the industry.

Raised in a family of three boys, William grew up as the middle child—curious, bold, and always willing to push boundaries. At 21, still exploring his path in life, he chose to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force as a Security Forces member. During his service, he met his wife, Kaylin, and together they welcomed their daughter, Gwyn.

After completing one year of service in Korea and three years in Tampa, Florida, William felt called to return home to Tyler, Texas. It was there, while shadowing his father, that he discovered a deep passion for serving families during their most difficult moments. This experience not only shaped his professional direction but also strengthened his faith and sense of purpose.

Today, William is committed to continual growth—personally, spiritually, and professionally. He approaches his work with humility and dedication, striving each day to support families with compassion, respect, and heartfelt service.
