William "Bill" Erwin McDaniel

William "Bill" Erwin McDaniel, age 83, passed away on May 14, 2026 in Tyler, Texas. William was born June 13, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents Elvin L. and Frieda Elsie McDaniel. He was raised in Oklahoma, and graduated from Norman High School in 1961. He married the love of his life, Sheryl Kay McDaniel, in 1962.

He enjoyed raising doves as a teenager and had an ornery sense of humor, loving to surprise people. Later in life, he enjoyed restoring AMC Javelins and was active in both Mason and Shiners in Oklahoma City. He was passionate about spending time on the beaches at Padre Island. Bill had a long career as an Independent Insurance Agent in Oklahoma before retiring in Tyler, Texas.

William was preceded in death by his father, Elvin L. McDaniel; mother, Frieda Elsie McDaniel; and brother, Robert "Bud" Louis McDaniel.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Sheryl Kay McDaniel; daughter, Lisa (McDaniel) Campbell, her spouse Bradley Campbell, and their children; William Mark McDaniel, his spouse Gyle McDaniel, and their daughter Taya McDaniel; Dana (McDaniel) Cancel and her spouse Doug Cancel.
