Thad Tate

Thad Franklin Tate, age 68, passed away on May 4, 2026 in Tyler, Texas. Thad was born July 31, 1957 in Tyler, Texas to Otis Franklin and Bobbie Tate. He was raised in Tyler, Texas and graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1975. In the beginning years, his family owned a rose business. He worked as a truck driver for the majority of his life.

He enjoyed hunting, saving animals, and being a good friend to anyone he met. He really never met a stranger. He was always behind the camera, never really in the pictures. He was a true character! He took really good sunset pictures from the cab of a truck.

Thad was preceded in death by his father, Otis Tate; and his brother, Trent Tate.

He is survived by his mother, Bobbie Tate; his son, John Tate; and his daughter, Dorothy "Elizabeth" (Eric) Betts.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brosang Family Funeral Home, 13437 Hwy 110 S., Tyler, TX 75707.
