Susan "Suzy" Kay Allison, age 65, passed away the evening of Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Susan was born February 26, 1961 in Port Arthur, Texas to Travis Allen Allison and Janyce Ann Reynolds Allison. She was raised in Houston, Texas and Tyler, Texas and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1981.
Suzy had a larger-than-life, vibrant, and spirited personality. She had spunk and sass that was anchored with meticulous self-discipline. She loved arts & crafts and ALL things holiday related. She belonged to a quilting/crafting group called The Cut-Ups and enjoyed needlework, beading, and painting. She valued family and kept up with all her nephews & nieces. She adored animals and was the best 'mama' any pet could ask for. She enjoyed football, playing games, and the outdoors - especially flowers, butterflies, and birds. She loved to travel and was always up for a fun trip or a respite weekend at Coventry Reserve. She served many, many years as a church nursery worker and she loved Jesus. Though autistic, Suzy was fiercely independent, and was a master at scheduling all her activities. She simply enjoyed every moment of her life.
Susan was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dwight & Eula Mae Reynolds and Ross & Josephine Allison; and aunt, Judy Allison Stuart.
She is survived by her father, Travis Allison; mother, Janyce Allison; sister, Jill Bryant (Lee); sister, Jerri Penney (Dan); nephews, Ross Bryant (Michelle), Austin Penney (Katie), Andrew Penney; grand-nieces & nephews, Raelynn Bryant, Millie, Levi, Luke, & Rosie Penney; uncle, Reggie Reynolds; uncle, Ray Stuart; and many beloved cousins.
Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Rose Lawn Cemetery Pavilion, 2003 Blue Mountain Blvd., Tyler, Texas, 75757, with Pastor Sam DeVille of Flint Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation will follow at Flint Baptist Church, 11131 FM 2868, Flint, Texas, 75762.
Pallbearers will be Lee Bryant, Dan Penney, Ross Bryant, Austin Penney, Andrew Penney, & Reggie Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Lassiter, Chris Lassiter, Brent Reynolds, & Casey Reynolds.
