Steven Ray Varner

Steven Ray Varner, born February 20, 1966 was taken to his reward on Christmas day 2025 at the age of 59.

He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Junior Varner; mother, Leota Ann Varner; brothers, Robert Wayne Varner and Virgil Grant Varner; sister, Loretta Ann Jones and brother in love, Joe Cheatham.

Steven is survived by his brother and sister in love, James and Karen Varner; sisters, Connie Campbell, Betsy Varner and Candace Cheatham; sister in love, Linda Varner, along with a host of nephews and nieces.

He leaves behind his precious children, Rachel Elizabeth Chiasson and Steven Jason Varner; grand girls, Paige, Riley and Willow Chiasson and Mahayla Morris.

He also leaves behind wife, Melanie; sons and daughters in love, Jon & Ashton Pierce, Scott and Katie Pierce, Philip Pierce and Cole and Andrea Brunker and his grand babies in love, Olivia, Owen, Ana, Aaron and Asa.

Steven worked in the service of Our Lord as a Band Director and Minister for over 30 years. His favorite pastime was live streaming services from around the country, listening to Gospel music from the Cloud and singing silly songs to his wife. He was honored to serve at Tyler Gospel Chapel for the past 7 years for Reverend and Sister John Kennedy and for Reverend and Sister Bryan Jacobe.

He is loved and will be missed greatly.
