Ronny S. Snow was born on December 27, 1944, in Jacksonville, Texas. He passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 81. Ronny was a proud Navy veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1966, and was a beloved member of First Baptist Church in Bullard.
Ronny was a legend in his own right - a man of honor, strength, and character. He wore every year of his life with dignity, and it showed in his hands, in his face, and in the steady way he carried himself. While veterans from earlier and later wars were often welcomed home as heroes, many Vietnam veterans returned to a divided nation and never received the honor or appreciation their service warranted. Ronny served with courage and pride during this difficult time, and he carried a deep respect for all who served.
He was as stubborn as an ox, and his determination and resolve were evident to all who knew him. He had a childlike curiosity about the world and a mischievous sense of humor. Not everyone understood him, but those who did knew that if he messed with you, he liked you. True to form, his stubborn streak showed in the funny little "experiments" he conducted and the way he approached life - always on his own terms. He was known for his one-of-a-kind sense of humor, his curious spirit, and his love for his country and the people in his life.
To Ronny, family was more than blood. His warmth, loyalty, and generosity created a family that extended far beyond traditional ties - anyone who knew him could feel it, and many fondly called him "Pop" or "Boompa" because of the love he shared so freely.
He found joy in simple things - twinkling Christmas lights all year long, dessert before dinner, KFC nights, and the music he loved. He truly lived through music, especially the songs of Willie Nelson. There were moments in life when he looked just like Willie, and we suspect he didn't mind at all. Music, like everything else he loved, brought joy, laughter, and connection to everyone around him.
His passion was hunting and spending time with those he loved at the deer lease - and while the deer may have had the upper hand, the laughter, stories, and good times were never in short supply. There will never be another Ronny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin Snow Sr. and Vivian Smith Snow; his sister, Jean Snow Stockton; and his great-grandson, Kaden Quick.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Jo Snow; his sons, Ronny Snow and wife Angelia, Todd Snow and wife Bethany, Kris Shustella and wife Andrea, and Zach Snow and wife Susan; his daughters, Jennifer Staples and husband Daniel, and Summer Boyd and husband John; his grandsons, Hunter Snow and wife Taryn, Ethan Snow, Reid Snow, Andrew Staples, Jacob Snow, Kaleb Shustella, Eli Snow, Noah Shustella, Jaxson Dorsey, and Brady Shustella; his granddaughters, Alyssa Adams and husband Alec, Cora Staples, Mercy Grace Shustella, Chloe Snow, and Myla Boyd; and his great-grandchildren, Steely Snow and Myles Adams.
Visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Bullard, 1428 S Houston Street, Bullard, Texas, 75757.
