Mike Cummins

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Cummins, a beloved father, brother, son, family member, and friend. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2. Born in Memphis, Tennessee on December 9, 1965, Mike lived life on his own terms-with strength, grit, unwavering faith, and a heart full of love for the people who mattered most.

Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Carol and his father, Michael Sr.

He is survived by his loving family, including his sister Bonita and her husband Ronnie, and brother Bryon and his wife, Kristen; his children, Madeline and her fiance Robin, John and his wife, Tori, and Allie and her husband Carter; granddaughter, Carlie; and many other relatives and friends.

Mike will be dearly missed by the many people whose lives he made an impact on. He was the kind of man you never forgot. Dressed in his signature black leather jacket, black cowboy hat, and black cowboy boots, he was the very picture of a true cowboy. But beneath that rugged exterior was a man of remarkable kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering authenticity. He often said, "What you see is what you get," and he lived by those words every day.

One of the hardest-working men you could ever know, Mike gave his all to everything he did. Whether he was working as a grave digger serving families with dignity, humility, and respect during some of life's most difficult moments, or lending a helping hand to someone in need, he never quit and never stopped fighting, especially when life became hard.

Mike found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved outlaw country, classic rock, a good country-western movie, and the peacefulness of the countryside. He could often be found with a guitar in his hands, letting music say what words sometimes could not, or sharing a story with a cigarette in one hand and a Dr. Pepper in the other. He treasured time with family and friends and had a gift for making people laugh.

Mike welcomed anyone who needed a place to hang their hat, a warm meal, or simply someone to listen. If you needed help, he was there without hesitation and would gladly give the shirt off his back for someone in need. Respectful, generous, fiercely loyal, and country through and through, Mike lived with a sincerity that reflected his deep spirituality. He walked through life with the quiet confidence of someone who knew he was right with the Lord.

There are countless stories that could be told about Mike, but perhaps the greatest testament to his life is the legacy he leaves behind. To know Mike and to be a part of his life was a true honor. He loved deeply, served others generously, and made the world a better place simply by being himself. His family and friends will forever cherish every story, every lesson, every laugh, every hug, and every moment they were blessed to share with him.

The cowboy has ridden into his final sunset, but his love, his strength, and his spirit will never fade. He will live on in the music he loved, the stories we'll continue to tell, and the hearts of all who knew him.

Rest easy, Mikey. Your work here is done. Until we meet again, we'll carry you with us every step of the way. We don't say goodbye - we simply say, "Till Then"
