Matthew James Anderson

Matthew James Anderson, age 33, of Tyler, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at his home in Tyler. Matthew was born January 13, 1993 in Plano, Texas, a son of Kenton Anderson and Rebecca Wheeler, formerly Rebecca Inman.

Matthew had a deep love for the outdoors. His last camping trip was shared with his father just last year, a memory his family will always cherish. He especially enjoyed fishing with his mother at the Boulders on Lake Tyler. Matthew treasured time spent with his family, particularly his sister and his nephew, and he had a special gift for making those around him laugh.

He took great pride in his work at Hospice of East Texas, where he dedicated himself to helping patients in any way he could. Matthew loved his coworkers, and over the past four years, Hospice of East Texas became a second home to him.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cynthia Anderson; and his brother-in-law, Josh Robertson.

He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Wheeler; father, Kenton Anderson; his sister, Erika Anderson; his nephew, Washington Robertson; his grandfather, Jim Anderson; his aunts, Tammy York, and Tina Anderson and many cousins.
