Martin Lee Gant Sr.

Martin Gant, age 72, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026. Martin was born on November 12, 1953, to Harold & Ruth Gant. He lived a life marked by hard work, service, and a deep love for his family & friends.

Martin proudly served his country in the United States Army, a time in his life that reflected his dedication and commitment to others. Throughout his working years, he never shied away from a job. Whether big or small, Martin was willing to do whatever work came his way, taking pride in providing for his family & friends and staying busy. After many years of hard work, he thoroughly enjoyed retirement, embracing the opportunity to slow down and spend more time doing the things he loved most.

Martin had a passion for restoring old cars and could often be found working on a project in the garage. He loved riding his motorcycle, casting a line while fishing, and making trips to the beach, where he found peace and relaxation. Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family & friends, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Martin is lovingly remembered by his children: Michael Strzelecki and wife, Lesli; Ronald Strzelecki; Dawn Dodson and husband, Joe; Donnie Gant and wife, Cindy; and Martin Gant Jr. and wife, Bonnie. He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him tremendous pride and happiness.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth Gant; wife, Christine Raney Gant; brother, Robert Gant; and sister, Linda Blakely.

Those who knew Martin will remember his love for Christ, his strong work ethic, his willingness to help others, his love for classic cars and the open road, and the genuine joy he found in being surrounded by the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the family & friends he cherished.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 909 N. Elm Street, Kemp, Texas, with a reception immediately following the service. Family and friends are invited to gather as they celebrate Martin's life, share memories, and honor the lasting impact he has had on all who knew him.
