Joseph Wayne Cage

Wayne was born in Crystal City, Missouri, in a small home to Joseph and Ann Cage. Wayne entered the world as Ann's "miracle baby." Born breech, he was destined from the very beginning to leave his mark on the world. Wayne served honorably in the United States Air Force as a Radio Intelligence Analyst. Following his military service, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 40 years.

He was a devoted husband to Faye for just shy of 56 years, and together they enjoyed a life full of family. They raised their kids in Cedar Hill, Texas, spending their Friday nights at local football games and hosting Sunday night dinners for anyone who wanted to join. Their home was frequently the social hub where anyone could find a meal or sit and laugh. Wayne never had a shortage of one-liners or dad jokes.

Leisure time was spent on the lake fishing and skiing behind their boat, which he lovingly named "Faye's Piano." Retirement was spent in the Emerald Bay community in Bullard, Texas, hosting parties, attending church, and traveling with friends and family. Wayne loved to play bridge, golf, and fish. Through his time in the bay, Wayne came to know the Lord and gave his life to Jesus Christ several years ago. It is through this that his family knows he is resting in peace and rejoicing in Heaven.

Wayne leaves behind his wife, Eleanor Faye Cage; daughter, Kelly Wilcox; son, Jason Cage; grandson, Maddox Cage-Azeltine; daughter, Amy Washburn; son-in-law, Craig Washburn; and granddaughter, Avery Washburn.
