Gerald Eugene "Jerry" Hetland

A Memorial Service for Gerald Eugene "Jerry" Hetland, 88, of Tyler, will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 109 Hagan Rd., Whitehouse, Texas 75791.

Jerry passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, July 5th, in Tyler, Texas. He was born in October 1936 in Iowa, to Leman and Ethel Hetland. A devoted member of Jehovah's Witnesses, Jerry lived a life rooted in faith and kindness.

After graduating from Santa Barbara High School in the Class of 1955, Jerry met Nancy, his wife of 66 years, in 1956. Over the years, he worked in various fields, most notably spending nearly 30 years in landscapin - a profession he took great pride in.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Leman and Ethel Hetland; his sister, Beverly; and his brother, Lyle.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his sons, Charles (wife Josefina) and James; three grandchildren, Leslie (husband Ahmad), Caroline (husband Daniel), and Gerald; and four great-grandchildren, Charley, Emilia, Liam, and Emir.

Jerry will be remembered for his hard work, humility, and the quiet strength with which he supported those he loved.
