Ernest Fredrick Stapleton III passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in Tyler, Texas at the age of 60. He was born December 8, 1964 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Ernest Fredrick, Jr., and Margaret Jean (Sears) Stapleton.
He graduated from Southside High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1983 and was a longtime Employee of the Burger King Chain.
In his off time, he enjoyed spending time with family watching old movies and late-night TV shows, Perry Mason, Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock, etc. He enjoyed going to the Book Store and record shops and just looking around.
He was always a voracious reader, even as a child he would read encyclopedias for fun. He also liked to write stories and always hoped he would be able to write a book someday.
He Loved nature, walking and camping in the woods, riding his bicycle and taking care of his cat, Wolfie.
He Loved Jesus Christ and followed his teachings. He was kind, he was humble and he was Loved so much.
Ernest "Ernie" is preceded in death by his father, Ernest F. Stapleton, Jr.; mother, Margaret J. Stapleton and his brother, Weldon Frank Stapleton.
He is survived by his sister, Sharon Colleen Holley and her husband, Dennis Jeffrey Holley of Tyler, Texas; uncle, Robert Westbrook Sears of Tyler, Texas; nephews, Christopher Michael Meler, Jeffrey Austin Holley and Travis Allen Holley; great nephews, Hayden Meler, Rodrigo Holley and Domingo Holley and great niece Anahlee Rulyne Meler, all of Tyler, Texas. And several cousins.
Graveside will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery, off 7th Street near the intersection of 7th and W. California Street in Sulphur Springs, Texas with Chaplain Robert Carter officiating, under the direction of Brosang Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Holley, Travis Holley, Christopher Meler, , Patrick Conner, Michael Conner and Adan Meza.
Honorary pallbearers will be his uncle, Robert W. Sears and nephew, Jeffrey Austin Holley.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Ernie's honor to a Library of your choice.
