Donald "Don" McElvogue

Donald "Don" Raymond McElvogue, age 79, passed away on August 17, 2026 in Tyler, Texas. Don was born May 28, 1947 in Ames, Iowa to Raymond McElvogue and Georgia Susan McElvogue. He was raised in Marshall, TX, graduated from Marshall High School in 1965, and then received his BS in Engineering at the University of Arkansas. He worked as a self-employed business owner for Steel Source for a majority of his life. He married the love of his life, Denise Lorraine Mcelvogue, in 1977.

He enjoyed working and taking care of his many pets. Don was a hard-working, driven individual and worked up into his 70's. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and granddaughters, along with his great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Georgia McElvogue; his brother, Ron McElvogue; his sister, Delores Merritt; his in-laws Robert and Lorraine Montminy; and his step son Jim Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Denise L. McElvogue; his son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Chris McElvogue; his daughter-in-law Lisa Smith; his two grandsons, Sean and Will McElvogue; his two granddaughters and sons-in-law, Lauren & Jube Guajardo and Lexi & Alex Green; along with 4 great grandchildren, Xander Guajardo, Evie Guajardo, Summit Green and Savvy Green.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
