Boyd Lynn Hamilton, age 95, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at his home in Tyler, Texas. Boyd was born May 15, 1930 in Paducah, Texas to Allen Boyd and Mavette T. Hamilton. He was raised in Waco, Texas and later in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he graduated High School in 1949. He married the love of his life, Nettie Mae Goree on June 30, 1954. Boyd's marriage of 71 years to Nettie was a true example of steadfast love and respect. They were happiest when together.
Boyd enlisted in the Navy and became a pilot and flight instructor, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1960 with a degree in Chemical Engineering, while he and Nettie were raising two young children. He had a lifelong love for Texas A&M University and his beloved Aggies.
He worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for most of his life. After working in South Texas and California, Boyd began working for Howe-Baker in Tyler, Texas. This job took him and his family to England for 3 years. The friendships he and Nettie established during his years at Howe Baker were enduring and cherished. In 1967, the family returned to Tyler and built their home on the Double 40 Ranch in Chapel Hill. After a brief "retirement," Boyd patented a gas filtration system and created Sepra-Chem Corporation. Boyd started the business and established it alongside Alek Hamilton. Eventually, his son Jerry and son-in-law Bob joined the team. Boyd continued to work into his 90's as he offered his expertise to the group.
Boyd had a passion for quail hunting and training his many bird dogs. Quail dinners with all the fixings were a family tradition. He raised cattle and successfully learned the cattle business by trial and error. Feeding hay and working cattle was a family affair. There were many fond memories and humorous moments. He found joy raising cutting horses as well.
Boyd was known for his humility, intelligence, and kindness. He chose to see the goodness and potential in all people. Many looked up to Boyd and came to him for guidance. As the saying goes, "he never met a stranger" - this was very true for him.
Boyd loved his family and friends deeply. You could always count on him for support and encouragement. He was a hero to many who knew him. Boyd was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Boyd was preceded in death by his father, Allen Boyd Hamilton; mother, Mavette T. Hamilton; son, Jerry Lynn Hamilton; brother Elward Dwayne Hamilton; and niece Teresa Ann Bartee.
He is survived by his spouse Nettie Mae Hamilton; daughter, Cindy Stephenson and husband Bob; daughter in law Debra Hamilton; grandchildren Robert Stephenson and wife Katie, Rachel Scott, Kelly Hunt and wife Madison, and Daniel Stephenson; great grandchildren Kyler, Noah, Charlie, Robert Allen, Sawyer, Emily, and Jasper; nephews David and Joe Hamilton, Nolan Meek and wife Pam, and Keith Meek.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Hamilton, David Hamilton, and Joe Hamilton.
