It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Billy "Bill" Martin McMillion, who departed this life on April 29, 2026, at the age of 94. A private graveside service will be held on May 2nd at Tyler Memorial Park, under the direction of Brosang Family Funeral & Cremation Services. Bill was born on November 23, 1931, in Italy, (Ellis County) Texas to Coke McMillion and Thelma Perry McMillion. He served our country in the U.S. Army as a Corporal and received a Korean Service medal with 3 Bronze Stars. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Eastern University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. He was a Tyler Police Department Captain for 11 years after serving in the Smith County Sheriffs Office for 2 years. He retired after 24 years as an instructor at the East Texas Police Academy in Kilgore.
He lived in Tyler most of his adult life and was a longtime member of Cedar Street United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling across the U.S. with family, visiting many National Parks and Florida beaches.
Bill was the last survivor of his immediate family.
His wife of 43 years, Priscilla "Prissy" Ann Alfred McMillion predeceased him as well as his daughter, Shirley Lynn McMillion. Surviving him are his stepchildren Susan Stokes Farris and husband Mark Farris, and Douglas "Doug" Stokes and wife Karre Stokes. Grandchildren are Brad Farris and wife Jamie, and Lindsey Farris Malek and husband Troy Malek, Miranda Stokes Zecha and husband Alex Zecha, Jack Stokes, Kailyn Jones and Grayson Jones: great grandchildren, Sydney, Louis, Cody, Annie and Brooklyn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug Stokes, Mark Farris, Brad Farris and Troy Malek.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks for Reunion Plaza of Tyler for the care they have provided Bill for the past year as well as Hospice of East Texas. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75701.
